Having gaps left behind from missing teeth takes away daily functions, making it difficult to enjoy the little things in life. With missing teeth, you lose the ability to chew and speak properly.

Dentures in our Burke office can help. They are a fantastic service to replace your missing teeth; thus, improving your overall health and appearance. If you believe you’re qualified for dentures, you may have many questions you want to ask Dr. Alex McMillan.

Dentures Burke We want you to be at ease and confident with your decision for choosing dentures, and to help you out, we’ll provide some answers with these five FAQs about dentures.

How are dentures fitted?

Dr. McMillan will examine the condition of your mouth to determine if you are suitable for dentures (i.e. gum health, any extractions needed, etc). He will take impressions of your bite to ensure the denture is customized accurately to your bite. The impressions are sent to a dental laboratory to craft your denture. You will follow up with Dr. McMillan to make sure your mouth is healing properly with the presence of dentures.

How long do dentures last?

Dentures can last for a very long time – up to 30 years or more! For longer results, maintaining excellent oral hygiene and seeing Dr. McMillan regularly will help make your dentures last a lifetime.

Do I still need regular dental check-ups?

Yes. It’s crucial to continue seeing Dr. McMillan at least twice a year to ensure your teeth and gums stay healthy and strong.

How do I eat with dentures?

It’s fairly simple to adjust your eating habits with dentures. Start with soft foods and cut your food portions into smaller bites. Then, introduce other foods to your diet and you’ll be eating back to normal.

Is there an alternative to dentures?

Yes! Dental implants are a great alternative to dentures. Implants will mimic the structure of teeth and blends perfectly with your natural smile. Dr. McMillan also provides implants at McMillan & Associates.

We are more than happy to address any of your questions and concerns regarding dentures or any of our other services. Gives us a call and we will gladly answer all of your questions.
